Why is setting an intention important when you participate in sound healing?

Setting an intention as you participate in a sound healing session whether it be an individual session or a public sound bath is important as you are defining what you want to get out of the session.  You are directing your thoughts to a positive outcome or way of being.  And it should be a positive thought or intention.

I do not know about you but if I do something without being fully invested in it, if my heart is not in it, I do not get the  full benefit.  If for example, I say I am going to go on a run but I do not really feel like it and I am not into it, when I start to tire, I start to walk or get discouraged. Too little in then too little out is what I say.

If I say that I am going for a run, put on some spirited music, look forward to the workout and say to myself, I have got this, then I get more out of it, run faster and complete the run in a good mood.

Do the same with your sound healing session and say to yourself, I will feel relaxed, I will feel at ease or something like that and it is more likely to happen.  If you say, I will stop being irritable or angry then you are not focusing on the positive, you are focusing on the irritability or anger- not what you want and you may not get the truly desired outcome.

And, did you notice, it was short and sweet? Kind of like, keep it simple!  It goes a long way and is one less thing to make complicated in life!

Set your positive intention and enjoy your sound healing!
